For whom is this Asbestos training?

Anyone who could potentially come into contact with asbestos; in materials, buildings or in soil.

Course duration and preliminary education

No previous education is required. This is a basic course and can be done well for someone who is committed to it. We therefore specifically do not have a specific duration associated with the course.

Around 1 to 2 hours. Of course it can be done faster, but we recommend mainly ‘learning’ the lesson material. After the course there are a number of test questions to determine whether you have actually understood the course material. Everything very easy, but enough to ensure that you earn the certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are asbestos tiles dangerous?

Yes, asbestos tiles can be dangerous, but the risk depends on their condition and how they’re handled. Asbestos is a carcinogen that can cause serious health issues like mesothelioma and lung cancer if its fibers are inhaled. As long as the tiles are intact and undisturbed, they pose little to no direct risk, since the fibers are bound within the material and not released into the air. The real hazard arises from damage, such as cracking, cutting, drilling, or removal, which can release airborne fibers that you might breathe in.

Can asbestos cause cancer?

Yes, asbestos is a known human carcinogen that can cause several types of cancer, primarily through the inhalation of its microscopic fibers, which damage lung tissue and lead to inflammation and scarring over time. The risk increases with the duration and intensity of exposure, and it can take 10–50 years for symptoms to appear.
